I still miss my first dog 🐶 from decades ago, a cockapoo named Pumpkin (mom of three litters in 1 year!)
However, my current household was severely traumatized by a neighbor’s dog years ago (& me too) so I think my future is more likely to be feline-centric 😁
I went years without a dog, as my ex husband was deathly afraid of them-no shame, he was mauled as a child- but ever since we divorced, I’ve had at least one. Usually more, since I volunteer in dog rescue and I love it. A house isn’t a home without and my (now grown) kids loved it too
Considering that the first time I was attacked it was a cat in response to a loud dog 😳 I’m surprised that my first cat successfully adopted me, but it was one of the best things that happened to me.

I used to be a dog person but my second cat was steadfastly against me interacting with them & quite talkative about it when they were around 😁
