We lost toriyama, sugiyama, and Miyake resigned from their producer role a few months ago.

They wouldn't cancel it, but I've been worried what the final product will be like.

I'm starting to think they are almost afraid to reveal information. Their early comments about "modernizing" it and the combat have me greatly concerned. DQ fans don't want massive changes, we love our comfy blanket of a game. Just give us new stories and keep the gameplay and style the same please.

I'm genuinely hoping this just means that they are leaning into certain aspects of western CRPGs. We are now in a world where Japan has fully consumed and enjoyed Skyrim on their own terms, so much so that the last few Zeldas even took a fair note of inspiration
