Between this and the FF9 content they added in 14. This all but confirms the Nvidia leak of a FF9 remake.

I predict it won't be in the Switch 2 announcement but announced in Summer game fest or a Summer State of Play. Basically over E3's rotting corpse.

I think for the people that enjoyed the style of the first six more. IX was the feeling of the first six but with current gen capabilities. IX is perfect to me except for minor inconsequential gripes like the jump rope. I love the new versions of VII. 10/2 were fine but 12 was very forgettable.

I actually appreciate how linear xiii is. Xii embraced jrpg and open world, but isn't really that bad, just different. Xiv is wayyyyy better as an mmorpg than xi. I haven't got around to XV, but cannot wait to dive into XVI.

Yeah there was a huge Nvidia leaks in 2021 and FFIX Remake was one of the games there. There were a dozen Square Enix games on that list, many unannounced, and they all ended being released except FFXI Remake and FFT Remaster (which have been hinted at other times)

And even FFXI Remake was eventually revealed to have at one point been real, it just got canceled eventually when the deal between Square Enix and developer Nexon fell apart. So yeah, given that literally everything else in the leaks was real, FFIX definitely has to be real too.

I mean the FFXI Mobile remake was even officially announced and we got screenshots and all so yeah. It's a shame it was cancelled but perhaps it wasn't shaping up well. Oh well...

It's real.

And based on the amount of FFIX content in FFXIV Dawntrail, and the (delayed) sequel cartoon I suspect they a big synergy between release that didn't happen due to delays.
