Nintendo says it received 2.2 million applications to preorder the Nintendo Switch 2 in Nintendo Japan's store. The number "far exceeds our expectations, and far exceeds the number of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles that can be delivered from the My Nintendo Store on June 5th"

Nintendo:
Granted the Switch 1 used a Tegra X1 that was 2 years and 2 months old on release but is 2 years really 'dated'.

Regardless, this is an insane number of applications.
Which, at this time, they’re only a couple hours away from midnight there.
Please let's refrain from calling people dumb until this inevitably happens in the country that will have the 90 dollars game
i have never seen a statement so full of fucking shit lmao. you're telling me they've never learned their lesson from literally ANY of their console releases, ever???
Thank you for coming to my t.e.d. talk
Your individual online store wouldn't be ser up to sell multi million systems. They've made multi millions for the global launch
But again it's global
Contractual obligations to said retailers
Again they underestimated public demand.
It's really useful.
Vs the rest of the world, stuff like not just tariffs, but also things like weak US dollar, the exchange in most European countries and more makes Switch 2 more expensive elsewhere.
you cant make an account after april 2nd and have it work for preorders
it has to be several year long NSO + playtime and it has to be before the system was revealed lmao
which makes it *even more crazy*
2-It is more than twice the biggest video game console ever, and more than 7 time the launch sale of the switch, so they could not have seen this comming.
