My take on it is that it's a fun game with beautiful art and music, but with writing that feels like it's been done by a child. It's for sure worth trying. But expect to be annoyed by simplistic dialog that never really builds to anything. Just treat it like a silly cartoon and you might have fun.

Guess that's a way to look at it. When this was mentioned in the same breath at Chrono Trigger, it was hard not to get excited. Didn't think it'd hit those levels but a good story could've carried this much farther.

For me the story couldn’t carry how simplistic and easy the battle system is. It lacks any real charm outside of the really nice pixel art. Not a bad game, just found it disappointing.

Yeah and story is a big part of what I want out of this type of game. I'm sure I'll play it eventually but it sucks to know it couldve been so much better.
