I disagree with calling him "generic" -- we barely know anything about the protagonists yet.
However, deeming his tropes in variations of 'common' really isn't helping you sway the "generic" claims. Only further emphasizing them.
This is the first Rockstar story trailer where I feel like I have basically no idea what the narrative is other than the baseline Bonnie and Clyde style story. A lot was shown but very little seems to connect other than their romance.
What is this the early 2000s? Where is the gameplay? For a game coming out in a year, you think they might have some type of working build to show off the gameplay. This is just a glorified movie trailer.
Nature of the Internet. A misattributed quote sometimes starts as meme, or troll and as it spreads it's original context is lost. Then people think "well if a lot of people are sharing and believing this it must be true!"
