Wrote a bit about Heart of the Machine which should be up on PC Gamer soonish, but I'll need MANY more hours sunk into this just to get a feel for its limits.
Arcen Games (primarily Chris Park, galaxy-brain dev) have always aimed high, but this might be their Dwarf Fortress/Caves of Qud opus.

Having a poke around Heart Of The Machine for my next impressions piece and... I think it might be something special.
It's ilke Crusader Kings for the speculative sci-fi crowd. Roleplaying 4X grand strategy where you start out as a single rogue android in a cyberpunk dystopia and go from there.

If this one sells (and I hope it does) it has ENDLESS potential.
And all options seem equally valid.
HoTM, in its first couple days in early access, is at 94%.
Potential spoilers, I guess? From a basic options menu?
They've got something special here.
Par for the course for Arcen, but there are parts of this that I still barely comprehend. The diplomacy/debate minigame makes my head spin.
but I will admit I went in expecting something closer to the old game singularity and the way the action/mental points worked confused the hell out of me.
Looking forward to getting stuck into this game this week
