Flipping very consciously to not pigeonholing our output as indie (and finding partners who help with that positioning) has opened up completely new audiences to us.

Also: playtesting at Disneyworld with parents / lapsed gamers. That opened my eyes to some stuff, lol

I don't think it gets talked about quite enough, but there's a lot of gamers who are actively hostile to indie games, who'll say it's all artsy-fartsy "pixelshit indieslop" and won't even entertain the idea that they might be good games, and they're quite unshakable in this mindset.
