The hanging chads were a pretty clear preview of what was coming. I've been worried for a while they would eventually succeed with their takeover and now we have arrived. Let's hope they eat each other before the country is turned into a smouldering crater.

It helps to stop thinking of them as stupid, and start thinking of them as evil.

They're adults, with agency. They wanted this. They fought for it for a decade. The point was to hurt us, not the price of eggs (or whatever lie they eventually settled on).

Reagan brought in neoliberalism. Bush Jr militarized the police (and blew up Social Security). Trump will bumble along the spectrum between stupid and evil just like they did, and we'll have one more godawful generational Republican handicap to overcome.
