Side Tabs were the killer feature for me. Now with named windows, tab groups and side tabs, I feel like I've really got browser tab management working the way I want it to.
A few years ago Chrome started eating up my resources to the point that I couldn’t use it. I switched to Edge and my laptop was able to breathe again. I’ve been quietly mumbling that I like it ever since.
Regarding Firefox getting back on track - idealistic idea (pretty sure not new):
FF becomes paid (5-10$/m) or there is „donate to Firefox only, not Mozilla, just Firefox, not Pocket, just Firefox” which gives team enough money for keeping FF first class up-to-date really privacy oriented browser
I moved from Chrome to Brave when the former disabled a bunch of extensions (adblocker notably); what’s the status of Edge on that? Might give it a solid shot, the additional features seem neat
100% agree with you on the dev tools stuff. There's so many neat things in there. I particularly like that lighthouse is built in and you can just run it on any site whenever.
After turning off that tab bar or whatever that they add for shopping or something -It’s just chrome with more features. The thing chrome has nothing like, is the vertical tabs. Works so much better with tab groups. It’s 100% worth it just for that.
When is the side tabs going to be up streamed to chromium? That’s the main thing making me have to find other browsers right now, and while it’s cool checking other browsers out, having to switch back to chrome for stuff is annoying 😂
