Is it ok to keep trying to do public library 📚 work in the face of All This? I make phone calls and I try to figure out how to support my community. I feel so useless.

That is not useless. Supporting our communities is democracy. Keep it up. It's your part in all this. Libraries are one of the best places in a community. I have used and loved them and have worked in three.
I work as just an assistant at my library. And I make a difference. There are definitely days when I question that, but it's something that I feel pretty confident saying. It's not even a sandbag in the flood of horror coming from Washington, but it matters to the person in front of me.
