I've probably re-read Susan Cooper's _Over Sea and Under Stone_ twenty-five or so times since I discovered it in 3rd grade (long before I found the rest of the series)... But I'm listening to it as a audiobook, & even though I mostly remember the plot, it's still far more terrifying than I remember.
