As someone who works with NOAA, I can verify that there is a push to cancel contracts of all sorts....administrative, cloud, even contracts for the GOES satellites. It's likely my contract will be cancelled.

Cloud contracts with AWS has been terminated effective midnight tomorrow....not sure if it is just OAR or NOAA-wide (the whole process is incredibly opaque). The past few years have seen a big push into the cloud and now that all goes poof.

The Airlines depend on National Weather Service data, which is part of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.
Ship captains and wild-fire crews also use this data.
This decision alone keeps Americans on the ground while being in fear of flying or traveling.
