I wonder if we're actually moving into a world where GNU/Linux is just a flat out wrong statement, Ubuntu is adopting uutils, I wouldn't be surprised if others decide to experiment with it

TBF not sure about PA but Wayland had really tangible and objective problems

It stills has some of them but mainly thanks to Valve, KDE and NVidia actually giving a shit it's kinda in a more manageable state right now

Arch has a package for it but I'm not aware of any discussion in Arch land for that https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/uutils-coreutils/

i think you can do mostly anything config with arch if you put effort, i meant more as if they'll add it as a default

Why should there be complaints? uutils is objectively better than coreutils. systemd is an abomination and should be sent back to the hell from whence it came.

Wayland doesn't deserve the hate, X11 is a steaming pile of dung. Pipewire is an improvement on Pulseaudio, but PA wasn't that bad...

uutils seems to have compatibility as a main goal, so probably won't be as disruptive as the other ones.

The expectation that everything should be frozen in time because change is bad sucks.

Especially when the change is being led by the individuals that maintained the project you like and made sure to make the transition as smooth as humanly possible.

They didn't even rip the bandaid off.
