Here's a thought, if distros start widely adopting uutils or some other coreutils rewrite I wonder if we'll see the same contrarian complaints that pulseaudio and systemd dealt with and Wayland is dealing with now

I wonder if we're actually moving into a world where GNU/Linux is just a flat out wrong statement, Ubuntu is adopting uutils, I wouldn't be surprised if others decide to experiment with it

It stills has some of them but mainly thanks to Valve, KDE and NVidia actually giving a shit it's kinda in a more manageable state right now
Wayland doesn't deserve the hate, X11 is a steaming pile of dung. Pipewire is an improvement on Pulseaudio, but PA wasn't that bad...
Especially when the change is being led by the individuals that maintained the project you like and made sure to make the transition as smooth as humanly possible.
They didn't even rip the bandaid off.
