I’m more excited about send personally (yes it’s been forked and hostable for a while but this might be good for visablity reasons, but self hosted is pretty cool!
This is long overdue. Mozilla has had a desktop mail client for over 2 decades now, but they lacked the willpower to expand upon it. They're finally doing it because they have a financial gun to their head with the threat of losing Google's funding. I'm glad they're *finally* doing it, though.
And it seems they want to use Stalwart (promising stack), which has JMAP support, and from the article it sounds like they'd want to adopt and expand that, which is great news (as IMAP really is dated, good luck downloading your e-mails on some spotty internet connection with that)

Let businesses and those who want more pay for the extra stuff.
Also very surprised it took this long for them to get into the email service business.
