Can someone explain to me what the everyday person uses AI for? I have never used it and have no interest in any of it. Why is it being researched and used?

Oof. That’s a long answer, the research & use part at least. Most everyday folks actually feed it more than they use it. But it can be useful for us commoners. Like, it could build your website 🤷🏼♂️ or generate letters to politicians or write resumes etc. Or make pictures of cats eating politicians.
I guess the accessibility of websites now are made possible by AI? I was looking at a moped and loved how the caption was written i went to look at it and mentioned that to the guy…and he was like chatgp. I was like u son a bitch you made me fall in love with a robot. Haha
I do a little volunteer work helping the communications person in my local chapter of League of Women Voters. Useful in making non-copyright images for graphic design. Also used for making silly birthday cards for my Women Build (Habitat) friends. Cakes with tools, for instance.
Had a conversation with some other friends as well and indeed there are applications that are helpful. I suppose just like everything else what is the threshold when it hurts more than helps? Small example (not Ai) autocorrect has diminished my ability to spell🌚
