Because you can still work if you are blind, can only eat soup, and can't hold a thought in your head. But keeping you alive longer so that your output is consistent is a perfectly capitalistic thing to do.

End of year, I always book health appointments and try to "use up" my insurance benefits. Feels dystopian. Like why can't I get health care when needed without worrying about breaking the bank? (And why doesn't healthcare include vision, dental, mental?)
