Dear furries
What was your furry awakening?
I want to learn more about the kinds of media that might inspire a person to become what they are today
I'm particularly interested in hearing perspective from people in different age brackets than me

there's a steroid episode of jim henson's dinosaurs that absolutely got to me when i was like 5 lmao
also catdog having sumo *and* bodybuilder episodes, garfield & friends having a macro episode, certain specific digimon...
A bit of web 1.0 perversion that managed to stick around. Had some TF stories too, which explained things.
(Lola Bunny also helped don't tell anybody)
The actual awakening though wouldn't happen til about 13 with a combo of compounding influences + the internet.
Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits had a character named Delma. First site was VCL taken down in 2013 https://vixencontrolled.net archive
Probably some other ones in media, but those are definitively the ones I remember.
I only consciously realized it when I came upon Hoodah's art of Renamon
First i realized i was into wg, and it slowly stemmed into looking up dragons
It was downhill from there, but i still lean scalie above all else
Also, the DSi is goated and/or evil for having a web browser.
Typed. Lmao
There was some utter trash, but man, there were some startlingly talented animators with the DSi.....
I don't quite remember?
like, I kinda wanna say Pokemon, most likely PMD?
like I also think of Ord from Dragon Tales but I think PMD really cemented me into the "furry" space in a way.
but I think I just liked the idea of "non-human creatures talking."
Bug's Life may have done something too but I think that did more for my general thing for insectoids.
