Hey! As far as I know, Wacom tablets have the best software compatibility, on top of being well regarded, so are a really solid choice. I personally have a Wacom Intuos M, which is a more affordable model with no screen (personally I would skip the "S", as many find it too small and the M isn't that
much more expensive.) If you're upgrading from a different tablet or want something a bit fancier that he'll use forever, maybe look into the Cintiq line. I've not used one myself but have plenty of artist friends who swear by them: https://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-displays
