I meeeeaaan, I donβt see why not? If you vaped apple juice I think some of that sugar would diffuse into your blood and it would end up being used as fuel by your body. I do think that it would be pretty bad for you and the actual caloric intake would be tiny but π€·πΌββοΈ.

@hankgreen.bsky.social could you consume any measure number of calories by inhaling? Like, could I huff enough aerosolized glucose to count as a meal?

If you want to inhale calories, you are better off going for alcohol than sweet.
Burn more calories trying to cough that up than you'd get from whatever got in your blood stream.
β¦but theyβll be dead soon.
On the flip side I don't think you could get apple juice to run properly through a vape, the sugar would carbonize on the element.
I mean, Have you all SEEN the early VlogBrothers episodes? This guy does NOT have good dietary habits. :)
So vaping is ~a girl dinner.
The respiratory epithelium actually restricts glucose from diffusing out to air passage.
So I doubt you can absorb glucose via air passages. However, it would collect in the mucus lining and get swallowed.
"glucose concentration in the airway surface liquid is...12 times lower than [in] blood sugar... Higher levels of glucose promote...bacteria by providing...a source for carbon for them." -Wikipedia
But I'm not going to stop you.
