Don't be dejected, I've also never been shortlisted in all the years that these awards have been run, most of us don't either despite quite a few being picked by studios to get pictures of their games out there at launch 😊 Plus so many turn up from everywhere to enter this. It's a big event

What I really need to remember, is that I submitted the shots that I love, not necessarily ones to *compete*.

If that makes sense. Like yeah I thought they could, but they weren't "tailored for the event."

I'm also a little bit of a purist when it comes to my own shots. I just don't have the creative energy for photo editing anymore (bff-related stuff).

Stretch my creativity by limiting my tools, that sort of thing. Makes for interesting shots, but not so much for competitions 😅

I totally agree - so many go the full editing route, so much so that it's not actually a shot from the game any more, at least in some cases 😊 Working within the restrictions of what the game has provided, is definitely a purist approach. Nice that Ubisoft make that a requirement in comps they run 👍
