Best advice I can give is to try and make these tasks higher visibility. Report on failures, describe the problems, etc. Won’t always work but it does help.

I’m still trying to find tasteful ways to say “I told you so” that don’t come across as rude but still communicate the point that they should listen to me when I say something is a problem.
Destigmatizing failure is a helluva thing. Watching folks realize they can actually be intentional with their work and subsequently take big swings rules (as far as watching the evolution of organizational politics goes)
