there are some issues with it (for example, barret, having come from an impoverished coal mining town, suggests... coal as the replacement for mako energy, which is an analogue to oil) but the game, politically, remains relevant 28 years on

Did you read what I wrote? Having political subjects in games that mirror what's going on now is fine. What I hate is someone going on a mmo chat and saying, "Our President rocks! Blah. Blah." I play games to relax and escape reality for a bit. Not to discuss what's going on in current politics.
For some maybe. I just block those people and move on. lol I do apologize though. I didn't mean to come across as harsh nor was I was trying to invalidate what you were stating. I do agree with what you're were saying. I just think there are better places to discuss politics than an mmo chat.
Oh, no doubt. But that's what forums are for; to gripe with like minded individuals. As for chatting, a simple hi will do I think. You'd be surprised how many people will say it back. :)
