Your eye is better than mine, but it seems the pants have a lot to do with why Messi looks so weird. He's wearing pants with a very high rise, but he seems to be wearing them below his hips, which drops the crotch to somewhere around his mid-thigh and gives him little baby toddler legs.

I think the high rise is optical illusion caused by his relatively long torso, the short jacket, and the short inseam.

But the pants are definitely part of why that suit looks comical.

I don't watch much assn football, but looking at a couple of photos of him, he seems to naturally have quite a long torso, so a deep crotch in the pants is doing him absolutely no favors.
