Agree. Also frustrated desire for intimate homosociality mixes with frustrated desire to be submissive. It gets sublimated into the performative cruelty of the whole alpha male thing, whereby you prove yourself to "manlier" men and so get called a good boy (though probably not in such direct words)

In all seriousness, a non-zero number of men struggle and lash out because they choose to sublimate homosocial bonding and homosexual attraction for a strict heterosexual binary, and it is absolutely ruining their psyches and our entire society.
