It's Goldilocks for me... sometimes full on digital works wonders, sometimes it is the other way around, sometimes just about half and half, and sometimes 70-30 either way😅 I guess it comes to what they need vs what the board wants from us🤔

What’s the best way for my students to learn what I want them to learn and to express what they want to express? Pick that tool. Good pedagogy before tool. #Edusky Give choices. Sharpen strengths. Scaffold for deficits.

By digital learning you mean digital tools vs pen and paper Aaron?
I've always found it's fun to learn from students what balance works best for them. The one area I do go bigger on digitally is creation/ prototyping tools #EduSky

I try to keep things balanced. Some topics lend themselves better one way and some the other, so not a balance each day, but an overall balance. #EDUsky

My gut reaction is the question is off…wouldn’t the question be better phased as either: ….traditional teaching and digital teaching… OR …traditional learning and digital learning..?

I've given my students plenty of digital study resources I've made, such as flash cards. But I changed tactic when I realized that the deep learning happened in the creation process, not by the cramming afterwards.

I don’t do a lot of digital learning during class time but I use the LMS and other tools a lot. In class we are mostly low-tech except labs. It is still significantly easier to show work in physics by writing by hand and students talk to each other better without screens. #ITeachPhysics

I have pretty large classes so if I want to see students’ individual work something like Peardeck is easier to monitor than mini-whiteboards. But with laptops over tablets students struggle to show written work/diagrams.

I do a lot of digital learning in my classroom. A parent asked me about balance and I said, “Many students tell me this is one of the few classes where they use their chromebook daily, so I’d say over the course of their school day they have plenty of balance.”

I haven't been able to find a way to meet the needs of all of my Ss using traditional instructional strategies. It is only through the use of technology that I can provide personalized learning for my Ss & give them what they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it.
