I’ve heard about wildflower poachers around here but have never seen any evidence of it. Great that you caught them AND saved the plant!

It was gratifying, and I stayed in my vehicle, so felt safe while I "lectured them". I actually mostly let them know that there are many plants in that area which are nowhere else in the world. I tried to educate, of course. ha!💚

So many parts of this don't make sense. Digging in rock right near the road (albeit a remote mountain road). They really wanted that plant, and we will never know why.
