Can we not try to override the Charter of Rights and Freedoms please?

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has vowed to invoke the notwithstanding clause — something the federal government has never done — to ensure that those convicted of multiple murders receive consecutive sentences without eligibility for parole after 25 years.
