Please never try to defend their behavior with “oh, they’re just mentally ill,” or “they’re trying to get help.” If they were really trying, they wouldn’t befriend children.

i hate to be this guy but it genuinely is a treatable mental issue. the problem is confiding in children and not taking the realistic route of getting help. plenty of people with mental health problems who continually IGNORE the avenues for help commit unimaginable, unexplainable and horrific things

I’d also like to add that if an adult often posts about/talks about sexual things, and wants to be friends with minors, this is a warning sign. Do not interact with people that frequently talk/post about sexual things if you are a minor, this is dangerous.
