These are truly great and so different from what gets promoted mostly for western epic fantasy audiences. Book 1 works wonderfully stand alone too so there’s no risk in newcomers deciding to try the series

Thinking today about Ken Liu’s DANDELION DYNASTY, books that I hold in tremendously high regard for their erudition, their commitment to bring the epic to epic fantasy, and their deep relevance. These books are essential reading as far as I’m concerned. And perfect for long summer road trips!
