I think NYT does this as their overall paper is more liberal leaning, and so this is their attempt at trying to be more centrist.
Overall I don't mind this, I think it is important to avoid echo chambers and having opinion pieces from the other side of the aisle can be healthy. 2/?

The author then goes onto say that 81% of insured adults like their insurance plan (yea because what other choice do they have????)
Healthcare is a right and no other developed country has this much difficulty caring for their citizens health. Nobody deserves to die just because a rich CEOs company decides they're too expensive.
