Can you please explain? I’m confused. I support several artists on Patreon. I do it through paypal from my computer. If I access their account through the app I downloaded from the apple store, does that mean they take 30% from the artists? How does this work?

Apple takes a high cut if a purchase is made within the app. If you use paypal on the computer, Apple does not get a cut.

Some issues:
- Apple doesn't support all billing schedules
- Apple forces apps to use their billing system
- Apple doesn't allow apps to link or tell users about any of this

So, in short the best option for Apple users is to never subscribe with the Apple billing system, and only ever use apps to *access* content rather than buy it.
