about six weeks ago, I started running a play-by-post real-time "logistics wargame" I made, called Cataphracts. It started with 5 players, now it has 23. I've tweeted about it a bit, but here's a short blogpost with more thoughts and observations ⬇️ (link below)

Lot of cool elements, lot of logistics to run the logistics simulation ("On Exactitude in Science" vibes there). Reminds me a bit of the Public Health Wargame we ran at my university a few weeks ago, especially the focus on communication.
caribbean campaign sounds sick—you should dig up the details of Arneson's Napoleonics game, it was a big inspo for cataphracts. I think it's in Peterson, probably Playing at the World?
how much time does the game take to run? the slowed down pace of it makes it really appealing for me
and you're totally right, I always forget—old habits die hard lmao
Thanks for sharing this.
something for the next one, maybe
we do have a queue, tho! other than at the very beginning there's always been like 2-8 players waiting for the next open commander slot
