actual computer person here: you forgot -sd (like OpenBSD.) it can also be an acronym but if it is an acronym, it must have at least two symbols involved and must never be fully defined (like MU/TH/UR, the dominant OS in Alien)

hal works because its a guys name also i feel like this naming scheme is very much era specific.
if you are aiming for like an area before we kinda normalized operating systems and their nomenclature then you can go balls to the walls.
