Growing up, I had reduced lunches because we couldn’t afford the full cost. We still accrued lunch debt, and they wouldn’t be discrete about us having special financial accommodations which lead kids to ask Qs/tease us (my brother and me). It was embarrassing & sad. I hate that it’s still a thing.
