Happy Las Vegas Grand Prix week, F1 fans! @lukesmithf1.bsky.social and I are flying to Nevada today so we thought we’d do a joint AMA. What do you want to know about reporting on F1?
We’ll try to answer as many questions as we can (within reason) this week!

Worst is probably Barcelona, wasted a lot of my life in traffic going to that track 😂
Arrows are pointing towards Hitech or Andretti.
Which do you find more likely, and which would you prefer?
Luke’s a smart and creative guy so 100 duck sized Luke Smith’s would be tricky if I had to fight all at once. I’ll go with 1 Luke Smith sized duck.
How has reporting on F1 changed over the years?
How much time is spent on preparation for the event? Doing what?
How hard is it to report on such a technical sport?
What was the most surprising moment you have had working in F1 so far?
What is your favourite memory from working in F1 so far?
2. Hamilton to Ferrari
3. I have thoroughly enjoyed embedding with teams and drivers!
And about #1, yeah, I imagined so, but if you and the other few are not actively mistreated, progress is happening.
Hopefully, I will see it stop being an action one day, that would be perfect.
Have a good time in Vegas!
2. Lewis to Ferrari still blows my mind.
3. On-track, seeing drivers get first wins/titles. But also a lot of off-track adventures!
Hope you have a good weekend in Vegas.
