Its possible Moonshade has previously been dead and was in hell, where he concocted this scheme with and traveled alongside; the demons up during an ascension (as a median has to accompany them to rise from their grave) and would be why his fur is out of whack with the seasons, like Rhea's is.

not specifically the crew we know but much earlier, we don't actually know how long this has been going on, or how many times ascensions have occured before, but long enough for folks like the Tamis family to meet eachother fall in love ect
