Ooof. In that soil, your rule of thumb is this: water only when it is completely dry. Punch as many holes as would fit the bottom. It will survive with little water but can die from too much.
Oh also! The plant had a bunch of offshoots which I gently removed so that it would actually have space. Two had roots but a bunch of small ones didn’t yet - is it correct that I should leave them to scab over for a few days and then try to plant to see if they produce roots?
Yeah, it's safer that way. The offsets will be sitting on top of the soil which dries out faster so they may have to be watered more often and separately until they grow their own roots. Maybe a spoonful at a time, just around the base.
Thank you for the info!! The soil supposedly is succulent specific soil so I hope it’ll provide more drainage than what it looks like at the moment omg… I did put several holes in the container with a lil dish under so hopefully it’ll be ok, otherwise I’ll get sth different! :)
