Im watching the top of the fountain. See those darker dots? You can actually see individual blobs of lava go from incandescent to black as they cool and fall back down to Earth. Each one of those blobs is what we call a volcanic bomb.

Those bombs will look something like this when they fall back to Earth. This is one I broke a chunk off of, so the outer crust of the bomb is touching my hand and the part on top in the photo was the interior of the bomb. This is one piece of a much larger (dinner table sized) bomb.
