I usually stay here when I visit Durness.
It’s on private land though walkers can still access the area around the housing.
The best thing about it is the privacy on a busy part of the #NC500 route.

Ceannabienne was the site of one of the most brutal periods of the Highland clearances.
Only one building, the schoolhouse remains. It is now a holiday let overlooking the beach.
The ‘salted’ fish industry was declining and landowners saw profit in sheep.
Hence the brutal clearance of the village.
Plus it’s just beautiful… or was.
Not many visitors actually go on the Village Trail if they did then they would discover not only history but some amazing secret coves.
