I was sitting down to eat and overheard a table talking about a coworker 'cheating' to use AI for a product. Then, she proceeds to justify her use of it only to 'get inspiration' and not for submissions. People keep lowering and lowering the bar of standards to justify using AI.

they primarily do videos on construction and sewing with a bit of history but if youre looking for a specific era of clothing i find that they can be very informative on what specifics to look for and sometimes even have historical fashion texts linked

I currently use a browser extension that allows me to blacklist websites from my image search, it helps a bit. Other good resources for me have been places like online museums because I can't go to the library or buy books.

I'm so tired of the enshittification of content everywhere too!

They're too lazy even for that. The site that was ripping off my girlfriend's art was run and commented on, by robots. Robots were copy pasting prompts and re-generating her art in like... dozens. Wish I was joking.

To spare yourself the pain, adding “before:2022” will exclude anything added since the flood of gen ai. It does mean that anything legitimate that happens to be new also gets excluded, but you won’t have to weed through the slop.

I think that's actually part of the goal. Once you rid the world of substantial verifiable truth and facts, you can make up your own "reality" wholesale. There's no "truth", so an intriguing lie is worth just as much. Thus you don't have to put up with the uncertainties of the real tangible world!
