I remember from law school how one on the principle reasons for free speech is to allow "the release of steam". By cracking down so hard in currying admin favor, they laid the seeds for their own destruction. Whereas if they were more tolerant, you wouldn't have gotten full building occupations.

I feel the need to again remind people that the government is not made of bears. You do not, in fact, need to lie down and play dead to avoid being attacked. Again, government =/= bears. I understand the confusion as they are oafish and smelly, but again, not bears. Please fight back.
