I rather think that's baked in now anyway, so even if it's going to be painful for Ukraine and Europe (financially and otherwise), it's not worth handing over the country to Trump for.

Exactly; military support has gone. Most of the likely leverage gone at that point. It's possible they could threaten to unsanction Russia, but they have no credibility so promising not to isn't much leverage. In the extreme they could threaten military aid to Russia, but wd need Congress.
And that would undermine his shtick about not funding wars abroad anyway. He's not really got any strategy or effective leverage now to play the strongman: Europe, Putin and Zelenskyy know that.
