Just found out about the JATSdecoder alternative to statcheck. Seems to have had a lot of work put into it, to be more robust to e.g. APA violations https://arxiv.org/abs/2408.07948 Any experiences?

The github readme has a link to a website that implements their version of statcheck. I don't know if that's the latest version. I didn't play with the actual R package, so maybe it's more robust.
FWIW, I uploaded a PDF of a student thesis written in Word that the student had exported to PDF and it did well, found more than @steveharoz.com's Statcheck Simple, in part by correctly ignoring the running head that can break up a stat between pages.
But that's unfair to Steve because for his webapp, the only option is to copy/paste, which would make it difficult to recognize running heads etc. as running heads. Maybe the open-source PDF converter that get-stats.app uses knows about parsing out running heads and page numbers.
