maybe I’m missing smthn but im surprised I don’t hear more ppl talking about pushback instead of accepting this as an inevitability. I expected to at least see inklings of how to MAYBE get around the ban or otherwise protest but there just kind of seems like a collective helplessness instead

might I ask what’s going on with VPNs for the US? I’ve seen a good handful of people from Russia and other places TikTok is inaccessible say they get by fine with VPNs. I’ve also recently heard of TikTokmodcloud which might be promising although I do think it’s unfortunately an android apk only

If this were enforced equally, I'd be more bothered to care. The government doesn't really care about the Chinese listening. They care that THEY can't listen. They care that THEY can't control it. It's not the spying, it's the issue of control.
