I've been asking that question for 3 years. Russians are too scared to fight against their leaders but willingly go to their death thru minefields, it makes no sense. As horrible as this sounds I think it's just genetic serfdom. Any Russian who had balls to resist has been killed for centuries.

So the offender was behind the guy that taped him to a tree and didn't try and kill or disable him and flee? Also it looks like it was just red tape, it would take like 5 minutes to rub that against the bark and cut thru it.
