Underdark drow rarely use terms of affection genuinely, and "ssinssrigg," meaning a sort of greedy, passionate lust, is the closest word for love. (alurlssrin being a surface/eilistraeean word with more genuine love meaning)

The part about Darkness and Silence is referencing the game Khaless ("trust") which is basically a game of chicken with lethal consequences. So basically saying like, yeah we're close but not THAT close.
These men are stupid.
