I did first aid for the one Bristol uni do every year with like a million unis. Conclusions 1) windsurfing is way more fun, rowing is just making yourself hurt 2) When an 8 goes past a pontoon you are on, the REALLY good crews, you can feel the oar stroke through your feet it's awesome.

So I did not particularly good rowing for a year and a bit as that was much more compatible with having fun than very serious rowing, but we did get good enough to sometimes be able to WHUMP through the stroke all together like that and it is a great feeling.
