Doing some research on the effects of chronic stress on the brain this morning for some programming we're doing on resilience in movement building, and whew, we need neuroendocrinologists talking about the impacts of what we're all living through on long & short term brain function.

Some of this is conditioned on early childhood stress, because when we've lived through trauma, we respond differently. And of course, marginalized folks live through more early childhood trauma than others.
This is a particularly difficult thing. I was talking with my therapist this week about how we proceed. Do I keep working to heal? Particularly given the parallels...
Every bit of trauma therapy is worth it.
I too cut back on alcohol and do find that helps with middle of the night anxiety. And yes, every bit of therapy is worth it. Because we are worth it. And it builds capacity for managing the nonsense.

My brain is already fried from years of chronic depression and anxiety.
