We had over 100 rounds shot in less than 20 seconds just a couple blocks from our house in Seattle 2 weeks ago. Multiple homes and vehicles were hit in a residential area. I had to scream for my kids to run and hide. Ducking in our own home. This world is madness.
And ironically, the people who did this were at a vigil honoring a victim of an execution style hit with a gun earlier in the weekend which also claimed the life of a security guard. Madness.
Listen to the video/audio of what this sounded like. Now imagine hundreds of people in their homes on a Sunday night. Children sleeping in beds. And then that sound suddenly erupts. I knew immediately it was gunfire. Bc we have so much gunfire around here. But never anything that bad before.
Had a nightmare last night about Americans being deported/ethnically cleansed for not 'liking' the dear leader. Thankful my kids are grown and no longer in school. They traded worries re a school shooting for worries about a work place shooting.
Iβm reading a book and in it a character describes covering their head like in an elementary school safety drill. I immediately knew it was an American author because no other Country has to have active shooter drills in elementary school.
I was in Paris a couple months ago, only my third time being out of the U.S., and I was struck by how few heavily armed police I saw. Then it dawned on me; the citizens arenβt armed, some with military-style automatic rifles. What a shame we live like thisβ¦
